Almond blossoms in Tuscany

Today I have the great pleasure to show a beautiful postcard received from Robyn Sinclair (Have dogs will travel), a little watercolor painting in subtle colours and many layers. To find the blooming almond tree on a cold and grey day was a magical moment Robyn tells me on the backside of the card.

I had admired Robyn's little Tuscany studies for a while in the sketchercise group. Now I can say it feels great to own such a nice piece. Thank you Robyn for this special card bringing the first almond blossoms this year!

That looks like a proper postcard sized postcard to me!

Wonderful subject Robyn - I can imagine how great it must be seeing blossom emerging again after our long grey winter.

Isn't it great that we're going to be seeing how the seasons change as we go through this project

A lovely study of the hope of approaching spring after the long, dark cold of winter. I really like the colours you've used Robyn - the warmth of the near and the cool of the far. A great little card to own.

Gives a wonderful feeling of spring awakening in the blossoms and the sun on the wall, with the still-cool distant hills, absolutely lovely Robyn!

Robyn, you have perfectly caught the contrast between coldness and warmth in colours. Spring is coming nearer. It just has to jump over the Alps. And stay!
