An expensive painting, February postcard from Katherine
Look what I got in the mail – a beautiful coloured pencil version of Pierre Bonnard’s Terrasse à Vernon by Katherine Tyrrell. She says it auctioned at Christies for a mere sum of 6.4mGBP (sorry I don’t have a pound symbol on my Australian keyboard!)
The colours in this postcard are amazing and so vibrant and a real treat on a very dark and grey autumn Sydney day (yes, we do have days like that – occasionally!)
Thank you Katherine!

How beautiful that is. I suspect Katherine is limbering up for Provence :) What a clever postcard.
How rich and beautiful those colors are, Robyn. What a lovely gift to receive from Katherine.

Wow - what super colours. It's amazing that something created with CP can look so painterly, very clever. Lovely!
Another beautiful colored pencil painting! I love the way the colors dance on this one!Katherine, I am so glad to see you managed to get out and create such a wonderful postcard despite your trouble walking recently!
Actually, the reason why I did this card is BECAUSE it was the day that I visited several exhibitions one day in early February that did my foot in!
However I did sit and sketch this at Christies in my sketchbook. So, not being able to get out easily, I decided to make a nother version at home as my postcard for February.
I love Bonnard and I love this colour-rich postcard, interesting to read how it came about Katherine, well done on picking the most precious Bonnard of the bunch!
This really captures a Bonnard 'glow' -- understandably welcome on a grey autumn day in Sydney and even more appreciated in an unpleasant northern spring!
I like the colour contrasts of blues and orange. Great card !
This is a wonderful way to recollect every single detail of a great art piece.Well done Katherine!
Such a beautiful use of colour, as always, Katherine!
Aha...la terrasse de Pierre Bonnard...one of my favourite painters! Beautiful Katherine...otally have to repeat robyn's praise of vibrancy in the colours!!
