Bolsa Chica - An American Wildlife Reserve

This is a beautiful postcard painted by Pat Reese. It's a glorious view across part of the Bolsa Chica Wildlife Reserve in Huntington Beach California. It looks like a very serene and special place. Pat told me a few days later she was visiting Las Vegas - I can't begin to imagine what the contrast must be like going from a place of such beauty and solitude to the bright neon lights, traffic, noise etc that is Las Vegas city.  I am so glad Pat chose this view for me!   Thank you Pat!

I agree and the foliage too is beautifully done with varied colour and very telling marks.

It's very much like a creek I walk down to get to an isolated part of the beach in north Norfolk .

I love the cloud shadows on the ground, Pat that beautiful violet mingling with the blues and the warm natural colours in the landscape. I'd like to borrow Ivy and walk right into the painting but I guess Ivy wouldn't be allowed into a wildlife reserve.

Wonderful perspective. I like especially the shadows of clouds in the background. And of course the colors!

A very inviting, peaceful scene, you do want to stroll into it and feel that sea breeze. Love the cloud shadows and colours too.

Isn't it amazing how, through these postcards, you get to see the places you don't normally associate with a place name. I never imagined somewhere like this in Pat's part of the world - which she captures so beautifully especially with her choice of colours.

Thank you all for the kind and encouraging words and for noticing the cloud shadow. Ivy was not allowed to come on this outing with me, but she would have enjoyed it.
