The call of the wild - winter greetings from Banff
I have to admit I was looking forward to this, a card from Charlene. Charlene lives in an area that counts to the dream landscapes on this planet. Also Charlene has been traveling to magnificent places, as for example to Machu Pichu too. So I knew that the card from Charlene would be something special in any case.
But getting such beautiful a card from Banff however strikes a special nerve with me. It brings up the memories of my young days and the extensive reading of Jack London and the great landscapes of Canada and Alaska. Charlene' s Water color card shows the city of Banff surounded by gorgeous mountain vistas.

Beautiful - I've never been to Banff but have visited Glacier Park and I think it is quite majestically similar! Amazing picture!
What a lovely idea! How did you go about getting started with this group? I would like to try something similar - any advice? I loved looking at the postcards!
Wow - those mountains are something else! I've spent lunchtime looking at wet pavements in Trafalgar Square - it can't compete!
I love to see a mountain watercolour sketch by Charlene - they're always impressive
This postcard has captured the wonderful strength of the mountains so well. I love the way Charlene has used warm and cool colours to depict the cold but bright atmosphere.
Jacqueline - We'd all been friends for a while before the postcard exchange happened. You could easily start one yourself. Just invite some artist friends to join in and establish a shared blog to post the results. Let us know when you do.
Charlene - Katherine is right, 'impressive' is the perfect word to describe your beautiful watercolour mountains.
It is so impressive that you are all artists from all around the world!
Beautiful, Charlene
I could hang this one in my den so I could enjoy it when I am sitting in the summer heat.
I thought it was cold here - but this is in a different league of coldness! you fit the grandeur of a large view into a small postcard, whilst still keeping that huge vista feel.
