I’ve received this incredible annotated map of a day in the life of Liz Steel. It makes me feel like a complete slacker, but I love this postcard! Here’s her numbered guide to the whole extravaganza:
1. walk south along/across the Sydney Harbour bridge
2. visit Tara Tearoom with sketching buddy Alissa
3. walk past the building I intend to draw and take photo as the sun is in the right location, then walk through the city to get to the gardens for Sketchabout Week I – after great time sketching and afternoon tea with 8 fellow sketchers, leave garden
4. walk around circular quay, dodge tourists
5. sketch for you (that would be me!) looking into the sun
6. too late for Parker’s Art Store this week
7. back across the bridge, including sketch
Liz describes it as an unusually crazy day, but if you follow her blog, you will know she does this sort of thing ALL THE TIME!

Charlene, how wonderful to get one of Liz's cards. She is so busy and her days are filled with adventure, it feels like you were a part of it all! Wonderful painting Liz, these little maps of your daily life are amazing.
Yes, Liz can make me feel like I'm trundling along at quarter-pace quite often! but a wonderful keepsake so typical of her, with the beautifully rendered architecture, the teapot and the little map that she's buzzed around. Love it!
mmmm she leaves me breathless too!
This is great, I like the jumble of maps and buildings and teapots that hangs together so well compositionally
Great composition! Can i have one of the Rocks area too please :o) Good memories of staying there and especially Doyles Fish restaurant nearby!
What an interesting "story" card. A day in the life of Liz with wonderful sketching thrown in.
Wonderful weaving of all the elements into this composition. Liz always manges to make me homesick - and envious of her wizardry with the pen & brush.
thanks everyone - just for the record this was one of the craziest days I have had. I know that I often sketch a lot but this day was BIG!!!!
I do love your crazy day Liz! to you it may seem crazy, to me it seems exciting! A great sketch, capturing all this craziness/excitement!

Liz, I am a great admirer of your beautiful sketchbooks. This is a very nice postcard from an obviously exciting day!
Liz is the spirit of Sketchercise! Not only the sketch but also the walk!
I love the fact that it also brings back memories for me of walking around The Rocks area of Sydney!
So vibrant and energetic - just like Liz! I love the trademark teapot!
