A sketch, a short note and a face on the side of a flower pot. A postcard from Pat
This is my first mailart postcard that I get from California. Great! It shows a tree-shaded road that leads into a forest. And on the back of the Card Pat sketched an antique head on a flower pot. The beautiful stamp from Grand Teton National Park fits perfect!
Many thanks Pat for this spontaneous drawing that you have probably drawn with an ink pen.

this is lovely and the portrait from the pot too is so well drawn
much as I love colour, monocrhome can work so so well
I agree with Vivien about monochrome and Pat's effective use of it here - nothing else is needed. A lovely little card to own.
I love the way Pat seems to draw magic with the negative space she perfectly places, creating trees and bushes that come to life! Looking forward to sketching with her and learning some of her secrets!
I keep thinking what a treat a card like this must be for the postperson too. Beautiful composition inviting one into Pat's walk.
It's a great technique you have, Pat and I would love to be able to look over your shoulder with Desiree.
I love your ink sketch Pat! And I love Medici urns and all kinds of Anduze vases, Greek vases..so your antique head makes me want to rush off in search for another pot! A beautiful card!

Pat is one of the best artists at creating foliage effects by clever use of negative space and broad tonal range. It always flows. I always learn so much by looking at her work!
I love nicely done pen and ink sketches and this is certainly one to love! What a great composition too - it makes me want to walk into the scene.
You have all left such very nice comments and I am so appreciative. Thank you all.
I'm amazed this made it through the post! ;) I agree with Robyn, it must be a treat for the post workers too to see such a little gem! Beautiful pen work Pat!
