My October card from Vivien

Vivien sent me this wonderful card which she says began its life as an oil painting but then wanted to be mixed media. Well what ever she did to create this beautiful postcard works for me! I love everything about it, the colors, the textures. It is really wonderful to explore all the secret areas in this card, which by the way is huge! Thanks Vivien!

What a blaze of glorious colour - after Felicity's single autumn leaf studies this is a serendipitous follow up card of the leaves en masse! Lovely silver bark on the trees, and all the marks and squiggles that make up this beautiful painting.

This is absolutely magical! Is that lacing of frost Vivien's new secret ingredient http://walk-postcard.blogspot.com/2011/11/coast-near-porthgwarra.html or an old secret technique?

Everything about this card oozes Autumn. Colour, texture, depth, it's all here. On first glance, the piece looks quite simple, but the detail is just glorious and there is much to enjoy.

I thought I'd commented on this one when it was published - but obviously not!

I adore the colours in this sketch - which makes it one of my favourites
