A Moody and Changeable Day in Cornwall
I received this beautiful card from Vivien this week.
"Distant rain, the wet sand shining with pinks and mauves and layers of cloud"
Vivien has captured it perfectly with her watercolour washes overlaid with coloured pencil.
I really wish I could draw/paint coastal scenes more, and haven't been able to get out to the beach much this summer (due to our wet and cold weather) so it is a real treat to have this propped up in front of me ... enjoying and studying it all month.
Thanks Vivien!

Beautifully painted Vivien, I could look at this forever. Very soothing.
so beautiful Vivien...the palae makes me dream of tranquility, books, beaches, white sails on the horizon, muslin in the breeze..

Vivien has captured the shimmering reflection of the sky colours in the wet sand beautifully with that CP overlay.
Vivien is adept at capturing the atmosphere of the sea. This is beautiful - so atmospheric.
Vivien has a real affinity with water and it shows in her sketching and painting.
Oh I love this - and thanks for posting the bigger version so we can see Vivien's lovely marks
I agree, Pat, I could look at this beautiful tranquil painting forever. I find the soft, transparent pastel colours absolutely enchanting.
