A Field of wild Mustard

I just received this wonderful postcard from Desiree on a grey and wet autumn day – what delicious colours – it certainly made my day. Unfortunately the mail is sorted and bundled with aggressive rubber bands which have left a small tear at the top – but apart from that it is in perfect condition!

“Although considered a weed, in the early spring this when sets the valleys and fields on fire with bright yellow flowers. The hills are still full of snow and the sky was a beautiful blue. A perfect walk on a spring day”

The back of the card also included a sketch – of some Clivia that are in full bloom all around her front courtyard- how I would love to come and visit one day!
Thanks Desiree!

Great colours and lovely sunny landscape!

I saw some Clivia just yesterday and that is a "spot on" painting!

Such a vibrant postcard Desiree and yes, it does capture the season, as do the beautiful Clivias. I always think they are such elegant flowers, far too elegant for my garden! Beautiful work Desiree!

I would never have imagined wild mustard could make such a show of colour. This is delightful.

I am glad you like your card Liz, I would love for you to visit, we have and quest room! The yellow field of mustard is gone now, done spreading its seed and just the green stems remain, so fleeting!

I love the fields of mustard, it is such a joyous sign of spring. This is such an exquisite little painting, Desiree and those beautiful flowers are leaping off the back of the card.

I love the tropical atmosphere on the postcard.

This card is California, the fields, the palms and those very 'tile red' roofs and the ever present mountains that are so often smog veiled and not visible. Beautiful Desiree.
