The first breath of Spring from Robyn

The first morning that felt like Spring, Robyn Sinclair

Robyn has sent me a delicious card, catching that early spring light, the coolness and freshness of it.

She said
' This was the first morning that felt like Spring. I was enjoying the sun on the bright moss on the tree trunks so I sat down in the olive grove and sketched it for you'
Thank you Robyn - I love it!

Olive groves have a special atmosphere and you've caught it, the season, the light, beautifully.

I like the way that the branches break out of the frame of lines and I'm delighted that it survived its journey unscathed as a 'proper' postcard.

The mix of drawing and colour washes also gels beautifully.

Yes, this is truly an olive grove...a lovely lovely card Robyn! I'm always mesmerized by the the olives' tree trunks, to me they convey years of experiences! How lucky you are to be able to sit in an olive grove...very special!

Isn't wonderful to sit here and draw and paint?
This postcard gives me all the wonderful memories back to the olive groves that I have seen in my life. Beautiful lighting effect. Like it very much.

This is a lovely breath of spring, and the tiny branch "bustin' out all over" the top is the perfect touch.

I've never been to Italy in Spring so this is a really interesting card - to see the light and the old gnarled trees coming to life again. Robyn has portrayed it beautifully.

Lovely sense of light Robyn! I love the way the trees look as if they are dancing, despite their gnarled old age, - happy that spring is here!

Oh Robyn, your card is so beautiful! I had the wonderful opportunity to stay at a farm house that had an organic olive grove where they made their own olive oil and grapes for wine. Every morning the owners would bring us fresh eggs, olive oil, wine and leave it one the patio table! Such wonderful memories you have brought back!!

I'm blessed to have the Tuscan landscape to paint - Everyone looks at it through rose coloured glasses. It is a magical space to sit down and sketch. Thank you for all your generous comments.

That acid yellow and bright olive speak so much of Spring. I love the contrast between the old and gnarled and the fresh and new

Oh Robyn, very nicely done, I too love the branch breaking out of its card barrier. As if spring is busting out of its winter restrains.
