Richmond Park Mallard from Alison in London

I received a wonderful card from Alison, knowing I love colors she painted me this lovely mallard duck. We used to have mallard ducks when I was growing up and Alison captured the colors perfectly. Getting these guys to pose for a painting is a bit tricky. Thanks Alison, I absolutely love my newest card for my collection. I am thinking of making a quilt out of all of the wonderful artwork from around the world by transfering each piece onto fabric!

What a delightful painting! Hope it's this lovely and bright in London in a couple of weeks when we all get up at 2am to watch The Wedding on TV.

A lovely fresh watercolour - and such lovely colours in the wing feathers. I think the reflections are just right too.

Beautiful, confident use of watercolour, Alison. I love it. Ducks are among my favourite things. I'm really going to have to stop eating them.

Thanks all for the comments. :o) We don't have many colourful birds in the UK, the male mallard is one of the exceptions. I love them.

Ronelle - You'd best not ever invite Robyn to stay, otherwise all your ducks will end up on her dinner plate! :o)

Wonderful mallard Alison - I especially love the way you've managed to capture the transparency of the water so we can see his little fat tum and little legs paddling away underneath!

So fresh and clean, a lovely painting. I have waited to open this up on a big computer screen and I was not disappointed. This little treasure is terrific.
