A Postcard from (Four Go Painting in) Provence
A little ray of sunshine arrived for me yesterday - not from Italy as you would think coming from Robyn - but from Provence, where she was sharing an artist's holiday that we would all have loved to joined in on with Katherine, Ronell and Sarah. Looking at this, I can just imagine the four of them sitting over... café au lait..? a beautiful beaujolais..? (a bit early for that judging by the blue blue sky perhaps - or perhaps not), gazing out of this window - see another version of it here - and talking and talking and planning what to paint and how to paint it, in oils, or watercolour, or gouache... It's such a lovely soupçon of their time together and a beautiful, bright souvenir for me to keep and treasure, thank you Robyn, I'm so happy to have a peep through this sunny window!

absolutely beautiful Robyn! and is that the jug you bought yourself? it's lovely
and I spy that cobalt blue deep there ;>)
What a delightful 'you are there' painting for all of us who wish we were there! Beautifully written up, Cathy, tying together so many aspects of everyone's adventures in Provence.
Beautiful robyn...I have the feeling of getting ready for lunch...!
Ronell
What a beautifully composed still life. Its a simple but stunning postcard.
Robyn - This is beautiful. The blue of that jug just sings, i love it!
Very nice card, full of Provence atmosphere!
Thank you all. One couldn't have found a place that deserved a postcard more than that little house near Bedoin.
Yes, Vivien - that's the jug. I fear you'll be seeing a lot of it in the coming years. Those two little stoneware bottles are gorgeous too.
Oh this is just perfect, makes me wish I was there again! beautiful job Robyn!
The blue blue sky started early in the morning and lasted until we had dinner! :) After which we had some splendid sunsets!
Lovely to see the jug again and your little bottles. Not to mention the geraniums, the wall I became besotted with, the pantiles etc.....
I tried a while back to leave a comment but wasn't able to. I get another chance to say how wonderful this view is and how beautiful to see all these collected images from your trip. Lovely painting Robyn.
I could spend my afternoon browsing through this blog. Interesting and creative
